  6. Prepare 21/2 tsp Red chilli powder

  12. Prepare 500 gram coconut milk (i used 2 tin)
  13. Take 3 Tbsp baisan powder
  14. Get Oil for tarka
  15. Get 11/2 tsp Red chilli powder
  16. Get For serving
  17. Take 1 packet Noodles boiled
  18. Take leaves Coriander
  19. Take Lemon juice
  20. Make ready Papri or crispy (kurum)
  21. Get Crushed chilli

Many know this dish as Khausay and it has gain much popularity lately, but still there are many regions of Pakistan and many families that are still unaware of the existence of this flavorful dish. FYI, Khausay is actually spelt KHOWSUEY (Burmese Origin) just like CHOPSUEY (Chinese Origin). China and Burma share border… Khaosay / Khao Suey - Khaosay or khao suey is a Burmese dish that might look complicated to make, but if you follow Hussain Tariq's steps you wont. Khausa is a Burmese word for noodle.

Instructions to make Khausay (Burmese Dish):
  1. Make a salan. Heat oil in a pan add ginger garlic paste 2 tbsp, grind 2,3 onions and 1 tin of tomatoes(3 tomatoes) together and make a paste and put in pot then bhuno so much until onions smell gone then add red chilli powder 2 and 1/2 tsp or according to your taste, salt 1 tsp or according to your taste, chinese salt 1 tsp, haldi half tsp then add chicken and leave it to cook until oil rises.
  2. For coconut curry - Get 500 gram coconut milk (i used 2 tin), add 3 tbsp baisan powder in coconut milk grind and put it in pot in low heat, in a separate pan heat oil add 1 1/2 tsp red chilli powder (or according to your taste) and when aroma comes out add in coconut curry and add little bit salt and let it cook little bit. It shouldn't be too thick or too watery.
  3. Boil noodles and serve with coriander leaves, lemon, papri (or kurum) and crushed chilli.

What you had is specifically called "Nan Gyi Thoke", flat noodle salad. But to enhance the flavours and be more aunthentic, you could add sliced hard boiled egg and top the finished dish with sliced shallots fried to crisp in turmeric oil. Khow Suey is a Burmese (from Burma) noodle dish with a delicately spiced coconut milk sauce and is served up with an array of different contrasting condiments/toppings that takes this dish to the next level and give it a burst of amazing flavors. Khaosay is a popular dish among Memon Community of Karachi, it is originated in Burma and Thailand as Khao Suey soup but modified by Indian Memon community of Karachi as a whole meal. It is very pungent and tasty dish.
