Chicken thoran is one of those dishes from my childhood that aatha (amma's amma used to make). It was not everyday fare because you need boneless Although generally thoran is a Kerala. Chicken thoran is a very popular chicken dish from Kerala. It is prepared by cooking boneless pieces of chicken with traditional spices and coconut.

Steps to make Chicken Thoran:
  1. Cook the chicken with a pinch of salt &pepper on low flame, adding an ounce of water if necessary till  the chicken is almost cooked and gravy is absorbed. Shred the chicken into small pieces.
  2. Grind together coconut, chilly powder coriander powder,turmeric powder,masala powder and springs of curry leaves into a coarse form.
  3. Heat oil in a pan on low flame
  4. Add chopped onion and salt for a minute.Then add ginger and garlic  and sort for a second
  5. Add chicken and sort for a moment.
  6. Add salt and coconut mixture into chicken.
  7. Stir well and cover and cook on very low flame for 3 minutes.
  8. Open the lid and remove from flame
  9. Serve hot with chappathy and plain rice
